Boboyagla Fm
Type Locality and Naming
The Boboyagla Formation was established by Wang Naiwen in 1983. The type section for its designation is just in Guiya of Baingoin county, Xizang (89°36′E; 31°45′N). Its reference section is in Boboyagla (Boboyala) of the Baingoin County of Xizang.
Synonym: Baboyala Fm, Popoyala Fm
Lithology and Thickness
The Boboyagla Formation is represented by gray, brownish yellow and red medium-bedded limestone and marl interbedded with grayish yellow and yellowish green medium and fine-grained sandstone and mudstone and red and green siliceous rocks. It is 400 m thick.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
It is in disconformable contact with the underlying Guiya Fm at the base.
Upper contact
Its is in conformable contact with the overlying Pintaboluo Fm.
Regional extent
This formation is generally distributed in the Guiya and Boboyagla (Boboyala) area of Baingoin County of Xizang.

Fossils
In the Guiya and Boboyagla area, it yields bivalves Isognomon cf. orientalis, Plicatula sp., Proviniella sp., Nucula sp., Lima sp., Lopha sp., Gervillia sp., Insocardia sp., etc.; big gastropods Nerinea sp., Cerithium sp., Aplocus sp.; Radiolaria, Echinoidea, corals, etc.
